Peter Holmes spent over 10 years in America learning the craft of carriage building before returning to Glasgow, Scotland where he established PETER HOLMES CARRIAGE BUILDERS in 1879.

Quickly, he grew a reputation for hand-crafting the finest wagonettes & carriages before becoming:

the first in Scotland to build the reversible "Stanhope Wagonette"
